Mazda Protege Spare Tire

The Mazda Protege comes equipped with a spare tire, typically located in the trunk beneath the floorboard. This spare tire is known as a "donut" or space-saver tire, as it is smaller and more compact than regular tires, designed primarily for emergency use and to be driven at low speeds for short distances until a full-sized tire can be installed. The size of the spare tire differs depending on the model and year of the Mazda Protege; however, a common spare tire size is T115/70D15. It ' s compiled of a compact wheel and tire combination providing temporary relief from a flat or damaged tire and enabling the driver to reach a service station for a proper repair or replacement.

Mazda Protege models manufactured from 1990 to 2003 have tires with overall diameter ranging from 22.7" to 24.6", allowing the use of a temporary spare tire with a near same diameter as the OEM tire. Tire diameter and wheel diameter clearance have been taken into account for the specific Mazda Protege years and trims.

Listed below are compact spare tire sizes that can fit some Mazda Protege vehicles based on acceptable tire diameter range of 22" to 25.3". Some Protege models may require the use of a traditional full-size tire as a spare. To ensure safe temporary mobility in case of a road emergency, always refer to the vehicle owner's manual for the correct Mazda Protege spare tire size designated by vehicle's manufacturer.
